When giving a professional massage, the therapist often uses oil. The oil serves several purposes; it lubricates the skin, makes the process of massage easier, assists in healing the skin and muscles, and in some cases, provides aroma therapy.

While there are a large number of oils used by massage therapists, they all fall into two categories; essential and carrier oils. Essential oils have a fragrance and skin healing properties; however, it is not good to apply them full strength to the skin, since they can be irritating. For this reason, they are blended with carrier oils. Carrier oils have very little fragrance, and actually make up most of the massage oil blend.

Essential Oils

The most common essential oils used by massage therapists are Eucalyptus, Lavender, Peppermint, Rosemary.

1. EUCALYPTUS reduces inflammation caused by muscle strain, and is a skin antiseptic. It also acts as a body temperature moderator; it warms the client in chilly weather, and cools when the weather is hot.

2. LAVENDER aids in relaxation. It also helps in wound healing, and helps to prevent scarring.

3. PEPPERMINT reduces inflammation of the skin, treating eczema and other epidermal conditions. As a stimulant, it increases circulation.

4. ROSEMARY helps treat muscle aches, and relieves fatigue and depression. It helps heal cellulite, and has been known to ease migraine headaches.

Carrier Oils

There are at least a dozen carrier oils, all of which have specific benefits in and of themselves. Following are the five most popular ones used by massage therapists.

1. ALMOND OIL has a pleasant fragrance, and absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving it non-greasy. The only precaution is that it should not be used on people who have nut allergies.

2. APRICOT KERNEL OIL has a lot of similarities to almond oil, in that it also absorbs quickly. In fact, it makes a good alternative for those who are allergic to nuts. Because of its high vitamin E content, it has a long shelf life.

3. JOJOBA OIL can be used to treat back acne. It absorbs well, and has a long shelf life.

4. COCONUT OIL has to be fractionated (broken down by heat) before it can be classified as oil. In its original state, it is solid. But after being fractionated, it becomes non-greasy, light, and easily absorbed. It has the added benefit above other massage oils in that it does not stain sheets.

5. SUNFLOWER OIL has many essential fatty acids that are also found in the skin; linoleic, stearic and palmitic. Since skin tends to lose linoleic acid through soap, and the amount in the skin lessens as a person gets older, sunflower oil is ideal to use for keeping the skin youthful. However, it has a short shelf life. It also cannot be used by people who are allergic to anything related to sunflower plants.

These carrier oils can be mixed with any essential oils, depending on what the massage therapist’s purpose is. Besides oils, many massage therapists prefer to use gels and lotions. Either way, the clients will leave feeling non-greasy, relaxed and refreshed. They will be ready to take on the world again.

Life after high school or college is full of opportunities. You have your whole life ahead of you and are living at your fullest. And, of course, when you’re young you are healthier than most so you don’t necessarily worry about the future.

While you are statistically unlikely to develop any genetic diseases or conditions that you have not been living with since childhood or have been genetically ‘preordained’, your 20s are likely crazy busy, divided between work and play so you should still give your health its due. Here is a list of the top 4 medical tests that are important for young women.

Pap Smear Test
This test is important for your health as it could save your life. The Pap Test can detect the early symptoms of cervical cancer, one of the deadliest and most aggressive forms of cancer that is next to impossible to detect otherwise as it is, like prostate cancer in men and colon cancer, virtually asymptomatic until it is too late to do anything.

Mental Health Test
Another important test to take during your twenties is a psychiatric evaluation panel. Between life, work and other concerns you will likely lead a wild and uneven lifestyle, one that can lead to serious health issues. You should take the test willingly (and not at the bequest of family members and friends) and be absolutely honest in your answers and discussions with your psychiatrist. An early diagnosed case of depression can be overcome a lot easier and have a much lessened impact on your life and relationships.

Complete Physical
This might seem like a no-brainer but you should get at least one complete physical during your 20s. The examination covers the basics of dangerous diseases and conditions likely to develop in a 20-year-old female from skin and breast cancer to early heart conditions and obesity. The doctor examine you will also calculate your BMI and give you diet and exercise plans based on it. A complete physical comes a lot of times with a blood panel so your examining doctor will take these into account in his or her recommendations as well. You should pay attention to what your blood pressure and cholesterol levels are. Heart attacks are not the sole province of men and you should take steps to avoid any heart issues.

STD Testing
If you’re young and outgoing you are probably sexually active either with a long-term partner or multiple casual partners. In either case you should have a complete STD panel test at least once before you’re 30. While some sexually transmitted diseases are less dangerous and quite noticeable your main concern should be HIV and your main priority HIV testing. While STD testing is usually expensive you should have one STD test each year for as long as you remain sexually active. Fortunately there are some cheap but good options on-line: http://www.healthtestingcenters.com/stdtesting.aspx.

Being young is great but nobody stays young forever. You’ll grow old and it’s best that you grow old happy and healthy than sick and helpless.

The mind is projected onto the body, and the heart is one of the favorite target organs. For this reason, to care for it, we must watch that our neurons are well fed. Among the food that assures to us the good one to go and to come from the life for the avenues of the mind, there are 3 especially important.

The fruits of the forest
All fruits provide vitamin C and magnesium, two fundamental nutrients for certain chemical reactions in the brain, for example, of the substances which allow us to feel well-being. Precisely in that, it is what highlights the berries: blueberries, blackberries, raspberries… Its all become our best allies to create a barrier that prevents damage to our neurons to stress we suffer in our daily lives. In addition, these fruits have anti-oxidants that protect our brain.

Blue fish
The Mediterranean diet tells us that we must consume blue fish two or three times per week. A major reason is due to its high content of omega-3 fatty acids.

Not all fish is worth: neurons produce a part of that fat, but another part must come from the food. And not all types of fish contain a good dose. The king of the omega 3 is the cold waters blue fish: salmon, sardines, anchovies, mackerel, herring and tuna.

Olive oil
Another star food of the brain is the extra virgin olive oil that comes directly from the olives and with mechanical compressor. Clean cholesterol the arteries of the brain, i.e. the mind. If it does not reach oxygen because our arteries are clogged by cholesterol plaques, we will not receive or remember information.

The recommended daily amount of oil is three tablespoons. The amount may increase as prevention of breast cancer. Its preventive efficacy is scientifically proven. The amount is free also for people with cardiovascular problems.

Diabetes is a metabolic disease which leads to high blood sugar. It can be caused by two different malfunctions in the body. Either, the pancreas does not produce enough insulin which is a hormone responsible for digesting sugar, or the cells do not respond to the insulin produced.

Whereas the first type often occurs in the early stage of life, the second can be acquired at a later stage of life, either due to genetic determination, through disease, or even through pregnancy. However, there are certain ways to reduce the chance of suffering from diabetes type 2, and that is by reducing the risk factors.

Preventing diabetes
In order to reduce chances for diabetes to break out, endangered people should live on a balanced diet and should fight possible obesity. These are two key factors in preventing the metabolic disease. It is also reasonable to have one’s blood sugar checked on a regular basis in order to track developments and to react faster in case of anomalies. Women who have suffered from gestational diabetes during their pregnancies have a high risk of falling ill to diabetes type 2 later in their lives, and they should take it as an alarm signal to adapt their lifestyle to the situation.

Medications and treatments
Of course it is impossible to completely eradicate the risk of getting diabetes. At a certain point, people might need to inject insulin into their bodies before or after eating in order to be able to digest the sugar. Since certified antibody suppliers like CUSABIO provide medical staff with applications to detect diabetes and other diseases, and equally help develop medications, the chances of living a good life with the disease are good. However, it is always better to reduce the risk factors for oneself as much as possible. A healthy lifestyle and regular body checks can help a lot.

Is there a function for drinking water? What is the reason why we, humans, enough water to drink? What happens if the man not drinks enough water? How do we prevent dehydration? When fluid loss occurs? How many percent of water is our blood? How many percent of water are our muscles? What can happen if we drink too much water? Is water poisoning? Is drinking too much water dangerous?

Necessity
Drinking water is necessary, even vital. A large portion of our body consists of water, such ¾ part. At a loss of only 2% of water begin to act and our body begins to function less well. Drinking water is necessary to avoid loss of water in our body to cause.

How much water?
In all honesty, the scholars do not agree on how much water should be drunk by humans on a daily basis. Generally it can be assumed that daily 1.5 liters good quality drinking water, preferably mineral water, is sufficient. Depending on whether the man has a lot of physical effort on a day, or the man lives in warm areas and in damp areas or man resides. Then is also true: if we get thirsty is a sign of the body that the body needs water. It would be better if we drink enough water before the body indicates that we are thirsty. The signal “thirst” should be avoided. Regular drink some water is the solution.

Biological processes
Water in our body is the basis of all biological processes in the human body. Water in our body regulates heat in us at (high) fever; we mainly need to drink water. Water has the property to the heat of the fever to record and carry it off by sweating.

Purification
Drinking water acts as a purifier for the body. If the body is sick, weak or recovering from an illness is the resilience of the body works by filtering the blood. This filtering of the blood is mainly done by the kidneys. This treatment only works well if there is sufficient water purifier by the body is present to filter waste from the blood of the draining.

The kidneys
Without enough water in the body, the kidneys can not function properly. If the kidneys are not able to see the blood to be filtered, and the resulting waste to be disposed of with the water present, all of the waste products and toxins stored in the liver. We ensure that we as humans are drinking enough water, the waste that remain after filtering the blood, does not accumulate in the body. Our blood contains about 83% water.

Moisture Loss
Physical activity such as sports, hiking, cycling, but also doing the shopping, housework and walking behind the stroller, all go hand in hand with the inevitable moisture loss. The human body loses fluid through sweating but also because water is evaporated by exhaling. The longer a person engaged in physical activity during hot and humid conditions, the more moisture you lose.

Moisture
A shortage of moisture can cause muscles to deteriorate leaving more room for the onset of cramps and spasms. Our muscles consists some 75% water. If the shortage of moisture is not completed, it may be the first step towards dehydration.

Dehydration
What happens if we drink enough water? If man really drinks enough water, there is a risk of dehydration. The water needs must be fulfilled by man: drinking water and by eating foods with high water content. If the need for too little water is fulfilled, there is a risk of dehydration. Characteristics of incipient dehydration may include:

Accumulation of toxins and waste,

Headache,

Fatigue,

High blood pressure,

Reduced performance,

Urinary tract infection,

Low resistance,

Slow metabolism.

Water Poisoning
Is drinking water harmless? Excessive drinking water can be very dangerous indeed! After some marathon runners fell dead from an overdose of water, it is the phenomenon of water poisoning among athletes generally known. The (too) much drinking water creates a salt deficiency in the body. By drinking too much water, the sodium in our blood too diluted and that can be very serious and adverse effects and sometimes even mean the end. If someone much, really too much, takes up moisture, it should also complement its salt is too short. Everything above the 2.5 liter fluid intake per day is considered too much moisture. If in doubt, always ask your doctor and / or experts warn!

Normally a man sleeps at night and the body is then also on set. It can happen that someone has to sleep during the day because of work, a newborn baby or jet lag. What happens in our body when we have to sleep during the day and how we can facilitate daytime sleep?

Hormone increase during sleep in daylight
Normally, a man tired after dark. This is because the pineal gland secretes the hormone melatonin, which promotes sleep. In daylight, this does not happen and therefore no induced sleep. The sleep rhythm is determined by light and dark.

Jetlag
A jet lag can cause the sleep rhythm changes. This is because during long fly zones are bypassed and thereby disrupted sleep patterns. You can suffer headaches, insomnia and concentration problems. To avoid jet lag you can shine bright light in the morning, so you’re tired earlier in the evening.

Daytime sleeping through night work
Some people have to work at night and sleep during the day. At work it is hard to stay awake after work and it is hard to fall asleep. There are some measures you can take to stay awake during work and sleep during the day. For work you need to stay busy and consuming caffeine-containing beverages. These ensure that energy keeps the body and not get tired. You must also ensure that sufficient light where you are. In the workplace should also be light and regular breaks keep you awake. When you have finished working at home and want to sleep, the room should be as dark as possible. Blackout curtains and a sleep mask may help to induce sleep.

A newborn baby
A baby needed feeding at night and interrupts your and his own night rhythm. To ensure that the baby falls asleep quickly after feeding a dimmer on the lamp to produce very bright light do not help. To morning light a little longer to keep out blackout curtains can help. During the day a baby can do best in a bright living room to sleep. It has to learn to get used to dark and light sleep is awake, but that rhythm teaches himself.

Early wake up
Some people suffer from early morning wake up by incoming light. This is especially the case in the summer. At night there may not have too many lights burn and morning light can stay outdoors longer through darkened windows. It can also help in the evening for 1-2 hours before bedtime expose you to bright light.

Many women, who have children, are overweight. In this article you can read more about the relationship between pregnant and overweight.

Women with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 35 to 40 have 26% less chance of pregnancy than women with a healthy weight. In women with a BMI greater than 40, the pregnancy rate of 43% off. Why is it difficult to become pregnant if you’re overweight? This will be explained below.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a syndrome that affects more than 50% of overweight women occurs. Women with PCOS are less fertile. Fat accumulation in the abdomen can provide for this syndrome. Do you have a waist circumference of 88 cm or wider? Then you have a higher risk of PCOS.

Cause
In abdominal fat, hormones are produced. More fat in the abdomen creates an abnormality in the hormone. Especially the sex hormone testosterone is produced excessively. This is then converted into estrogen hormone. The amount of estrogen should normally only increase if follicle is growing. If estrogen levels always increased, the brains that think there is a growing follicle. By doing so, the brains follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) makes on. FSH hears the follicles in the ovaries to grow and mature. The follicles are not sufficiently developed.

Consequences
The menstruation of women with PCOS is irregular. Some women even fall out completely. Other possible consequences are:

Heart disease

High blood pressure

Acne

Pain in the pelvis

Sleep apnea

Excessive Hair (normally in places where only men have hair: around the nipples, upper lip, chin, inner thighs and the middle of the abdomen).

Disturbed sugar metabolism
If you are overweight, your body needs more effort to the sugar values to maintain. Insulin is an important hormone in the sugar metabolism. After eating, the blood sugar rises in value. The body uses insulin to decrease the sugar value. Overweight women need more insulin to reduce the amount of sugar in the blood. Especially women with lots of fat around the abdomen have a high insulin value.

A high insulin value has an adverse effect on your fertility. The amount of sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) decreases. This means that the body produces more testosterone which disrupts ovarian function.

It also increases the amount of luteinizing hormone (LH), as a result of the high value of insulin. The ovary is less able to follicles to grow.

Pregnant despite obesity
Yet there are women who become pregnant despite their obesity. Such a pregnancy is more risky. The risk is greater of:

Miscarriage: Women with a healthy weight is the risk of miscarriage 15%. In women who are overweight, this probability to 75% increase.

Pregnancy diabetes (gestational diabetes), women who are overweight, walk 3 times more likely than healthy women to get this disease.

Maternal toxicity (preeclampsia): overweight women have a greater chance of pre-eclampsia.

High birth weight: a woman with obesity often runs the risk that her child becomes born heavily. This can cause a difficult delivery.

Abnormalities in the child: a baby with a too heavy mother can get heart deviations.

Baby Deaths: women who are overweight is it 5 times so often that her baby died after childbirth.

Fall
If you want to make your child wish, it is therefore recommended that in order to lose weight. 2 to 4 months after the weight loss, your menstrual cycle will be regularly. After 3 to 6 months you will conceive. Usually it is not necessary to extreme weight loss. Do you need tips? It is advisable to visit your doctor.
